- Intro to GIS and Cartography (Fall 2023)
Being new to GIS and having GEOG 250 as my first class, I wasn’t sure what to expect from myself or the field. After a few weeks of learning the basics of ArcGIS Pro and also what GIS was in general, we had a project to make a map of Crater Lake in Oregon.
Using data from the USGS and guidance from my professor, I was able to make this map of Crater Lake and its various tourist spots around the perimeter. While I did have general instructions on our project document, I was still able to learn a lot on my own and apply the information into my own creation with my own style.
Even though it’s nowhere near my best work, it remains one of my most important as it’s my first main project I made in the field, and I will always look back at it fondly.
